Ask any PostDoc student what the most daunting part of their PhD was, and more often than not they’ll tell you it was the viva. While this feeling may be inevitable, we’ve shared our 6 tips on how to prepare for your PhD viva to help make things go a little smoother on the day.
To summarise: know your thesis inside out and bring a highlighted copy with you. Carry out prior research on your examiners and try to predict (and then prepare for) the questions you may be ask. When answering questions, try to focus on the strengths of your research – and most importantly, try to enjoy it!
