The University of Birmingham was established in 1900, is a member of the Russell Group of universities and has an especially strong reputation in the fields of engineering, medicine and economics. It’s currently home to 34,000 students, 6,500 of whom are international students from 150 countries. In the latest Research Excellence Framework (REF), it was considered having a “global impact” in 87% of its research output in fields including chemical engineering and history.
