Project Description
Continuing pressure on the future supply of traditional lubricants means that research into alternatives is widespread. Bio-lubricants are often touted as a solution but the geographical requirements of cultivation realistically limit their use as a complete replacement. PhD projects in this area look at the effect of using bio-lubricants as part of a blended lubricant, and/or the use of additives (e.g. nanoparticles, ZDDP) in biolubricants, on the tribological performance of the lubricant.
